Experience and Background

I began playing volleyball in the third grade, attending numerous camps including indoor and sand. Furthermore, I played competitive club volleyball at Premier from U12-U17 as a right-side hitter and setter. I also played in high school at Homestead High School for four years and participated in intramurals in college. I’ve coached numerous camps throughout the years for both Premier and Homestead.

Coaching Philosophy

As a coach, I want the girls on my team to strive to be their best on and off the court. It is important to me to create and maintain an environment that is comfortable, trusting and encourages the girls to grow. The drills and games we will do in practice will both be about building the necessary foundational skills to be successful and will also mimic game scenarios to make sure they always feel prepared. I also feel that it is important to communicate with them about how they are feeling and to incorporate what they want to work on in practice as well.

Furthermore, volleyball is a team sport and no team will be able to succeed without every player. This means that everyone will always need to be supportive and always be there for each other. I want my team to understand that mistakes will happen and that there are opportunities for them to learn how to better play the game. I will always be proud of them, no matter the result, ranking, score, etc. The ability to work well with others is a trait that is going to be important for the success of each player both on the court and in life after sports, and I will encourage this through team bonding drills and activities. Moreover, I will always expect my players to be respectful and I will not tolerate any attitude that will negatively affect the team. We win as a team and lose as a team.

Lastly, I want each of my girls to feel supported, comfortable with me, and feel as though they can come to me (both for volleyball and for life in general). The most important thing to me is that they have fun, make good memories, and always feel confident in themselves. I hope to show them how incredible of a sport this is and help them fall in love with it!

My life outside of coaching
I graduated from St. Olaf College with an undergrad in Kinesiology and I am currently working as a Physical Therapy Technician as I apply to grad school. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and I enjoy being outside, reading, and trying new things.
